What's this about U-Pick Flowers?

U-pick flowers are similar to other u-pick crops, like apples or berries. It's all about the experience on the farm. You get to meander through the field or orchard and harvest what you like along the way. It's a hands-on experience that allows you to connect with nature, enjoy the beauty of the farm, and create your very own custom fresh-cut bouquet.

In our field, you'll discover a wide variety of blooms, including focal flowers and fillers for beautiful bouquets. You don't need to be a floral designer! Just about any combination of flowers makes a stunning display. Varieties available at any given time will depend on the season and what's currently in bloom when you arrive. The field changes all season long as plants go through their growing cycles, so visit often!

 Our U-pick flowers are self-serve.

Here's how it works:

  1. You'll start on the workshop patio, which is set up as a quaint little self-serve farm stand.
  2. Take a look around and read the sign above the table that guides you through the simple U-pick Flower process.
  3. Next, grab your supplies - choose either a big cup or a bucket, and a pair of flower scissors.
  4. Then, you'll head over to the water (you'll see the sign) and add a little water to your cup. This keeps your flowers hydrated from the moment you harvest them.
  5. Now, head out to the field. You'll enter through the arbor at the corner of the flower field. Take some time and look around before you start cutting. Enjoy the beauty and take in all the different varieties.  When you are ready, harvest some blooms and create a beautiful custom bouquet of flowers. Cut the stems pretty long so you can recut them later for arranging and/or to help keep them looking fresh. You can cut as many flowers as will fit in your cup!
  6. After you've finished filling your cup with fresh flowers, return to the patio and drop your scissors into the "used" bucket so we can wash them. Then take a look around and shop all the goodies on the patio.
  7. Once you've made your selections, it's time to check out. Add up your items (flowers plus other goodies), deposit cash into the cash box, or pay using Venmo or a card by scanning the appropriate QR code. If you have a pre-purchased ticket, please drop it in the cash box.

Helpful Tips:

  • Feel free to hang out and relax on the patio or in other seating areas provided. We want you to enjoy and savor your experience at the farm.
  • Remember to take pictures! Our flower field makes an excellent backdrop for capturing memories. When posting on social media, be sure to tag @clovercreekgardens. We love seeing our guests, and it helps us spread the word about our U-pick flowers.
  • Your cup for harvesting flowers should fit into your car's cup holder, which makes transporting your flowers home a breeze.
  • Remember, this is a working farm.  There is dirt, uneven ground, and sometimes machinery. Please wear appropriate shoes for the field. Consider bringing rain boots, as the ground can sometimes be muddy.
  • You may also want to bring gloves to protect your hands when picking flowers.
  • It can get hot in the sun, so consider bringing a sun hat and a water bottle.
  • All of our beautiful blooms do attract bees. This is a good thing! But, please be mindful of where you grab. Generally, the bees will ignore you as they are much more interested in the flowers. If you are allergic, ensure you have an Epi-pen before entering the field. We do not have these on hand.

Need more fresh flowers?

Instead of a cup, which holds 15-20 stems, you can grab a bucket from the patio, which holds about 100 stems. Our "Bucket of Blooms" option is just $80 and is perfect for creating multiple bouquets. Pick as many flowers as will fit in the bucket! This is great for DIY flowers for a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, or other special event.

Professional Photo Shoots:

If you are a professional photographer and would like to do a photo shoot at the farm, that's awesome! Please call 608-607-7812 to reserve a time. We'll schedule you outside of normal U-pick times so you'll have the field all to yourself and won't have to shoot around other people cutting.

Want to visit but not cut flowers?

If you'd like to visit and wander through the flower field to connect with nature and take in the beauty but don't want to actually cut flowers, we ask for a small donation of $5 to help the farm maintain all these wonderful blooms.

Our goal is to provide our farm visitors with a fun and memorable experience.

Can't wait to see you!
