What's this about U-Pick Flowers?

U-pick flowers are similar to other u-pick crops, like apples or berries. It's all about the experience on the farm. You get to meander through the field or orchard and harvest what you like along the way. It's a hands-on experience that allows you to connect with nature, enjoy the beauty of the farm, and create your very own custom fresh-cut bouquet.

In our field, you'll discover a wide variety of blooms, including focal flowers and fillers for beautiful bouquets. You don't need to be a floral designer! Just about any combination of flowers makes a stunning display. Varieties available at any given time will depend on the season and what's currently in bloom when you arrive. The field changes all season long as plants go through their growing cycles, so visit often!

 Our U-pick flowers are self-serve.

Here's how it works:

  1. You'll start on the workshop patio, which is set up as a quaint little self-serve farm stand.
  2. Take a look around and read the sign above the table that guides you through the simple U-pick Flower process.
  3. Next, gather your supplies: choose either a small cup, a large cup, or a bucket, and a pair of flower scissors.
  4. Then, add a little water to your cup (you'll see the sign for water next to the patio).  This keeps your flowers hydrated from the moment you harvest them.
  5. Now, head out to the field. You'll enter through the arbor at the corner of the flower field. Take a moment to look around before you begin cutting. Enjoy the beauty and take in all the different varieties.  When you're ready, harvest some blooms and create a beautiful, custom bouquet of flowers. You can cut as many flowers as will fit in your cup!
  6. After you've finished filling your cup with fresh flowers, return to the patio and drop your scissors into the "used" bucket so we can wash them. Then take a look around and shop all the goodies on the patio. Be sure to check out the decorated jars you can use to upgrade your bouquet!
  7. Once you've made your selections, it's time to check out. Add up your items (flowers plus other goodies), deposit cash into the cash box, or pay using Venmo or a card by scanning the appropriate QR code. If you have a pre-purchased ticket, please drop it in the cash box.

Helpful Tips:

  • Feel free to relax and unwind in one of our seating areas adjacent to the cutting field. We want you to enjoy and savor your experience at the farm.
  • Remember to take pictures! Our flower field makes an excellent backdrop for capturing memories. When posting on social media, please tag us @clovercreekgardens. We love seeing our guests, and it helps us spread the word about our U-pick flowers.
  • Your cup for harvesting flowers should fit into your car's cup holder, making it easy to transport your flowers home.
  • Remember, this is a working farm.  There is dirt, uneven ground, wood chips, and sometimes machinery. Please wear appropriate shoes for the field. Consider bringing rain boots, as the ground can become wet and even muddy at times.
  • You may also want to bring gloves to protect your hands when picking flowers.
  • It can get hot in the sun, so a sun hat and a water bottle are always a good idea.
  • All of our beautiful blooms attract bees. This is a good thing! But, please be mindful of where you grab. Generally, the bees will ignore you as they are much more interested in the flowers. If you are allergic, ensure you have an Epi-pen before entering the field. We do not have these on hand.
  • Bonus fun - Do you love butterflies? If so, you'll enjoy the fact that our flower field is a magnet for many different species. See how many you can spot while you're here!

Need more fresh flowers?

Our small cup holds around 15-20 stems. The large cup holds 25-35. If you'd like more flowers than this, just grab a bucket, which holds approximately 80-100 stems. Our "Bucket of Blooms" option is perfect for creating multiple bouquets. This is perfect for DIY flowers for a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, or other special event.

What's the cost?

Small Cup  $20     Large Cup  $30     Bucket of Blooms  $80

Professional Photo Shoots:

If you are a professional photographer and would like to do a photo shoot at the farm, that's awesome! Please call or text 608-607-7812 if you'd like to reserve the field. This way, you won't need to shoot around other people in the field, and we'll guarantee no work is going on at the time of your photo shoot. If you don't want to reserve the field, there is just a $20 fee to use it for your photos. Please deposit this in the cash box (or use Venmo) in the Farm Stand on the patio.  You can take photos during any open hours, 8-8 daily.

Want to visit but not cut flowers?

If you'd like to visit and wander through the flower field to connect with nature and take in the beauty but don't want to actually cut flowers, we ask for a small donation of $5 to help the farm maintain the field for you to enjoy all the wonderful blooms and watch the pollinators. Please deposit this in the cash box (or use Venmo) in the Farm Stand on the patio.

Our goal is to provide our farm visitors with a fun and memorable experience.

Can't wait to see you!
