Come out during open hours (8 am-8 pm daily), no appointment needed. You'll start at the patio farm stand, where you'll pay and read how it works. You'll make your selection on the size container you'd like (small cup, big cup, bucket) and grab some flower scissors. Next, you'll head to the field. When you've filled your cup, you'll return the scissors to the stand. That's it! For more detailed info, read this.
Due to the amount of time, effort, and resources that go into creating and maintaining the flower field, we ask for a small donation of at least $5 per person to enjoy the beauty of the field. You are welcome to snap lots of photos; however, if you are planning a professional photo shoot, please see below.
At the farm stand on the patio we accept cash and Venmo. If you'd like to pay by card, please scan the QR code which will take you to a link on our website. If none of these work for you, I do have a card processing machine, but you'll need to check in advance that I'll be around when you arrive.
Absolutely! Picking flowers is a wonderful way to spend time as a family. However, because of all the hard work that goes into this field, they are expected to be supervised and be respectful of the flowers and property. This is a working farm so please don't let them run wild. We ask that you don't let children use the flower scissors as they are sharp and we don't want to risk injury to themselves (or to our flowers!). Also, please make sure kids stay on the walkways and don't cut through the rows.
Yes, you are absolutely welcome and encouraged to snap fun photos while picking flowers! We’d be happy to be tagged @clovercreekgardens if you share them on social media. However, formal photos using a photographer do require a small fee to use the field.
That's going to depend on the size of your group. Our U-pick field is large enough that it can accommodate most groups if you want to come and pick flowers. However, if you have a large group (say 10 or more), please shoot us a heads-up message so we have plenty of supplies ready for you at the Farm Stand.
Picking first thing in the morning is usually the best time during the hot days of summer. You'll get the longest vase life if the flowers are still cool when picked. Second to morning is later in the evening, after things have cooled off. But you can pick during any open hours, which are 8 am to 8 pm daily. Just be sure to keep your flowers hydrated and get them out of the sun and heat as soon as you can.
For best results, pick the day before your event or first thing in the morning on the day of. When you get your flowers home, change the water out and then let them hydrate for at least a couple of hours before you arrange them. Keep them in a cool room (but NOT in a refrigerator). Avoid putting them under a ceiling fan or in direct sunlight. Make sure any leaves below the water line are removed.
That is going to vary depending on when you are picking. The field has been planned so there are plenty of blooms all summer long, but not everything blooms at the exact same time.
We offer a very large variety of flowers throughout the season. Some are available all season and some bloom in specific windows. If you have questions about a specific variety or color, please reach out.
Here are some of what you'll find in the field, and of these, you'll find several colors or varieties for many of them.
Ageratum, Allium, Amaranth, Angelonia, Bachelor Button, Basil, Celosia, Coneflower, Cosmo, Daisy, Gomphrena, Grass, Hydrangea, Lavender, Marigold, Monarda, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Scabiosa, Sedum, Strawflower, Yarrow, Zinnia, Sunflower, and more!
Get on our email list to find out what's currently happening and what's coming up at the farm.
